Course Information
Prison Break Half Marathon 10K 5K - October 25, 2008
Half Marathon
Begin directly in front of the main parking area at the
Idaho State Correctional Institution. Run east on the access
road towards South Idaho Correctional Institution, follow
pavement past the guard station and around the prison
fence-line where uniformed staff will direct you along the
prison perimeter to the water tower. After you pass the
prison water tower, guards will direct you onto the prison
Dairy Road. You will then run west until you reach Pleasant
Valley Road. Staff will direct all Half Marathoners south
(left) into the high desert of south Idaho, staying on the
tank track along S. Pleasant Valley Rd. Continue past the
Idaho Correctional Center as well as past the South Idaho
Correction Work Center. Continue on Pleasant Valley road
past Kuna Mora Road. Turn right (west) onto Barker Road
where staff will offer assistance at the water station.
After refueling continue west along Barker Road to Cole
Road, turning right (north) on Cole Rd. Correction staff
will guide you north on Cole. Follow Cole Road past Kuna
Mora and all the way down into the beautiful canyon. Staff
will direct you right (east) at Ten Mile Creek Rd. Follow
Ten Mile Creek uphill to Pleasant Valley Road. Turn right on
Pleasant Valley, continue uphill out of the valley. At the
main South Boise Prison Complex entrance gate, turn left
(east) and race straight to the finish.
5K

the main South Boise Prison Complex gate sign, then turn
right and race directly to the finish line.
10K

track along side S. Pleasant Valley Rd towards the main
prison entrance gate. Continue north past the main South
Boise Prison Complex gate-sign heading uphill, then downhill
through the valley (watch for military tanks). When you come
to the aid station, correction staff will turn you and point
you back (south) to the main gate. At the gate, turn left
and race directly to the finish line. |
